...you can't eat unless you absolutely have something with it. If it isn't available, you either order something else or eat something else.
For me, I can't have hot dogs without stone ground mustard. Yellow mustard will do in a pinch. No mustard, no hot dog for me. But I don't have a fit nor would I tell the host why and I will gladly eat anything else. this is just fun and more about personal choices.
I would also say Sushi without soy sauce/wasabi mixture. It just seems dry and plain otherwise. There are exceptions when it's topped with it's own sauce...but actually...no, I still drizzle or dip the roll in soy/wasabi as well. I guess I just need that to make it complete.
I don't want a hamburger, I want a cheeseburger - the burger must have cheese or I don't want it.
Toast with no butter, even if you have preserves or jam, I don't want it.
I have to have ketchup on my burger if there is none then BBQ will suffice. I have to have grated cheese on any pasta dish, if we don't have any I will not make pasta that night or I will run to the store and get it. Hubby has to have cheese on his sandwiches and burgers so I keep plenty of American cheese in the fridge (his favorite cheese), I also have to have pancake syrup on my pancakes, waffles and French toast, no substitutes please. Honey won't do and I never buy real maple syrup, even though it's better.
