I thought it would be fun to hear about foods/dishes you tried for the first time recently.

I found out I love dried garlic cloves! One of our stores has lots of dried vegetables ("chips"), I like most of them, esp the okra, green beans and carrot, but the garlic are the best! They have a little oil and salt for flavor, and I could eat them like popcorn

My other new thing is mixing orange koolaid with orange juice, about 60/40. Tastes like an Orange Julius

I had gnocchi for the first time within the last three months--and made it myself. Just last night, I made it using INSTANT potatoes instead of all the way from scratch. Made it a LOT easier to make.

I'll have to try the orange juice thing. Sounds good.

Anyway, the first thing I have tried this year and love is Earl Grey tea. I prefer it hot but will drink it cold too. I am not much of a "tea" drinker, meaning black tea, hot or cold. I never really liked the taste. I drink herbal teas only, but this Earl Grey tea is great. The bergamot in it which is a type of citrus fruit really changes the taste for me from regular black tea, and I really like it. It has a nice zip to it.

My new favorite is Caranoli rice from Italy. It is different than arborio rice. Love it. Hard to find tho! and expensive...but so worth it. It has a unique flavor and texture.

T.B.A. Wrap.

They serve this at the Prescott Brewing Company & Restuarant. I went there on Saturday and tried it out. It was sooooo good! It's a tortilla wrap with veggies in it, cheese, and slices of chicken. It was really good! They gave me 2 and I saved the other one for later as a snack.

Fig ice cream on warm chocolate cake that has caramel filling. This was at a nice little Greek Restaurant on the Eastside Midtown Manhattan.

Chester's chili-cheese fries and Combo's salsa tortilla chips. I am not much of a junk food person but I loved both of these snacks so maybe I am changing my stance on junk lol.
