fat or other coating added should be assumed I would think.

I do not eat a lot of steaks - partially because I limit my red meat intake and also the cuts that I prefer are a treat.
I have purchased round on sale and depending on how it is prepared can make a nice meal. It either has to be tenderized or smothered in gravy/sauce to reach a chewable state.
it is what it is...if you chill in the freezer then slice an eye round,,,it makes good sandwich steaks
i like making beef florentine from eye rounds.... a whole eye round usually weighs around 6-7lbs..
square up the ends...then roll flat..season, layer provolone cheese, and then spinach..."roll" back up, tie, and slice -you can roll the outside in garlic/pepper
well, here's a video,(of the florentine) not the best quality,,,but it shows the whole eye round
A round steak is not as good tasting as a rib eye, but a round steak is leaner. A rib eye contains more fat. I usually use round in stew or ground it up for burgers. I grill rib eye, t bone, NY strip or sirloin.
Round tastes great in stew or chili!
