Tonight we have finger size cut turmeric chicken breast with thin stripes of red bell peppers with basmati rice, roasted cumin seeds and green peas as decoration. For dessert 1 homemade little Meringue ring with Italian plum compote (that I made in fall to freeze).

Slow cooker "rustic Italian chicken" (new recipe!!) tonight ... it's smelling awfully good at my house right now!
I made that for the first time back on November 6th ... that night, it was OK but not as good as I'd hoped. THEN I had the leftovers -- and they were GREAT! I guess some dishes are better the 2nd (or 3rd or 4th!) time around.

I started the slow cooker going on low before I came to work this morning, so hopefully tonight I'll have a great-smelling house and a good meal, then even better leftovers for the next few days.

(BTW, the recipe is at Slow Cooker Rustic Italian Chicken recipe from Pillsbury.com -- I did make a few modifications though, e.g. extra mushrooms & extra garlic, put the pasta right into the slow cooker for the last 30 minutes or so [that actually worked fine], add a tablespoon or so of pizza sauce [yep!] to the leftovers before nuking, etc.)

In the crock pot now pineapple and onion chicken (green peppers, soy sauce, brown sugar) will serve over rice with spinach salad.

Rotelle pasta with homemade pumpkin sauce. Very good. Usually I put crumbled cooked sausage in the sauce because that was the original recipe but I try and cut calories here and there, plus I don't have any sausage.

It seems like a great recipe. I bought boneless chicken breasts while shopping today but am missing some other ingredients. I'll improvise tomorrow and see how it comes out.

That sounds yummy!

Thanks for reminding me about turmeric - I need to replace the old stuff. On the grocery list now.
