We will be at our granddaughters for Turkey day, she and hubby are doing a ham and 2 turkeys. Why two? he can't decide between smoking one and deep frying, so he is doing both. Everyone is bringing something of course. I am taking appetizers. I am making stuffed mushrooms with crab meat and shrimp: a few others with sausage for the dumb people in the family who do not like seafood. I am also taking a 5 cheese ball. I make 4 or 5 of them last weekend and I am making fruit kabobs.

Only two people eating so we are not doing it up. Brined and roasted turkey breast, gravy, stuffing, garlic green beans, cranberry sauce, and maybe an apple pie, or not.

The word 'fixing' never fails to crack me up. I always imagine a broken meal that needs to be repaired.

Wow that's quite the effort for two, I am impressed. We're two this year and I have no clue.

seriously no clue, used to do it up large because my parents would come up but Dad passed last September and the holidays haven't been normal since. Sad.
one side of the family will gather wednesday late afternoon- we will have a lobster-feast, then play poker
thanksgiving morning we will have some delicious venison ,,,then go hunting,,,with a little luck, we may have a couple of deer in the truck
late morning we will be back - more family will arrive, we will have turkey-say our graces, and thanks, and enjoy the feast, the cooks will relax after dinner, while the rest of us pick up and do the dishes-more hands=less work
we may play some more poker and have a drink, for a while,,then we will all head for home
mainebrokerman you so rock! I hoist my vodka tonic to your deer quest.
Even if it's only porridge, give thanks.
