I've been invited out for Thankisgiving and the host is making the turkey and desert (they don't eat stuffing or gravy) and we are brining the sides (for a gluten free meal).
Any thoughts on what I should bring? I fully understand gluten free as it's me that is gluten free .
Thanksgiving side dishes are something I love. Green bean casserole with the crunchy onion topping, sweet potato casserole, cranberry jello salad, mashed potatoes, and stuffing are among my favorites. I could eat those things for days.
I'm not a big fan of turkey but love many of the side dishes!
The green bean casserole fibonicci posted looks really good.
Roasted root vegetables.
Garlic mashed potatoes.
Fruit salad.
Carrots with fresh dill.
Roasted beets chopped and served in a salad with orange slices, feta cheese and balsamic vinegar dressing.
* Sorry, I don't know if any of my suggestions are gluten free.
that might be hard to do gluten free but I'll look it up.
I have wanted a gluten free green bean casserole for so long. I have tried so many times to try and make it to no avail. One year when I lived in a state with a Trader Joe's I tried to make a knock off version with a bechamel sauce. I used these Vegan and GF Funyon Knock Off From Trader Joe's. I was hoping it was gonna work but no such luck. May try again some day. I sure do miss it.
Charlie.
