Rice cakes taste like cardboard. Anything to add to them to give them some taste. What about the health aspects of rice cakes? The name makes them sound healthy but doesn't necessarily mean they are healthy. Don't know much about them.
Out of curiosity I went to the Quaker website and the ingredient list looks pretty clean. Basically whole grain brown rice. Plus a little salt and flavorings, if you get the flavored type. Even the salted ones have very little sodium. I would say, all things considered, these are healthful and low calorie.*
Which is probably why they taste like cardboard, LOL.
It's been years since I've had them but I used to like the white cheese flavored ones. Or plain with some sort of nut butter (sesame, peanut, cashew, etc.)
*Of course if you're aiming for truly healthful and low-cal, a piece of fruit or a vegetable would be a better choice.

Spread a little peanut butter and drizzle chocolate syrup on top of them.
Sorry, even my cats won't eat them - and they like to chew on Styrofoam. I reckon they're pretty well inedible.

The whole concept is to eat them as a filling but very low cal food. When you wrap it in bacon, or add preserves, they are not a low calories food anymore.
If you don't use them for that reason, buy something more tasty...
I like them (I get the caramel ones) and spread w/a little peanut butter - I'm a crunchy food person.
