I am not surprised at all - I read labels and consider what I buy and put into my body. Sometimes I choose to buy those "onion rings" knowing exactly what they are. But for the most part, I try my best to stay away from processed foods and most definitely 'junk food'.

The Industrial Revolution - a good or bad thing. But that topic is probably covered in another Food Thread.

Those are all pretty scary products.

Well, apart from Oreos. I like Oreos.

I just aim to avoid all processed foods these days completely. Much easier.

I don't know if this was in the link or not, but I hate fake guacamole. All they use is cream and green food coloring. Blech! Much, much simpler to just buy avocados and mash them with seasonings. I don't know how those brands can be in business.

Here's something I just learned: most wasabi is nothing but green-colored horseradish.

One of the local sushi places offers REAL horseradish for a small up-charge. Wow, all this time . . . .

Maybe because people don't know the difference in taste between the real and fake stuff. What a sad commentary for such a delicious fruit to have it reduced to fakeness!

They said on TV the other day that when you buy canned pumpkin, there is NO real canned pumpkin, not a drop of pumpkin in there!..... I didn't wait to hear what is in the can..... just didn't think I want to know that!
