IIRC, the US is the only place that does this. Rest of the world uses real sugar.
From a consumer perspective, moderation is great. From a corporate perspective, that's a conflict of interest. The more consumable products like drinks that Coca Cola sells, the better off it is. If we all followed the safe guidelines for consuming sugary drinks (what was it... no more than 20 to 60g of sugar per day?), Coca Cola would be hurtin'.
That is NOT correct. A substantial portion of Mexican Coke ALSO includes corn syrup, even some of it marketed in the border states.
LOL Everything in moderation. There's nothing better then a sip or two of ice cold soda when you're hot and sweaty or after a hangover from too much red wine that's supposed to be really good for you. Just not a months worth in a couple of hours.
Go watch what happens to sugar when you burn it down to a crisp. Looks very similar. In fact, what food actually burns down clean I like to know and see.. That burnt blackened BBQ ribs sure doesn't look appetizing anymore...

There is "Coke" made from real sugar in both the United States and Mexico. It is not widely distributed but does become more available nationally in the USA during the Jewish High Holy Days period. Trick is to look for the "Kosher for Passover" stamp/sign somewhere on the container.
Persons in the North East and Mid-Atlantic states have been known to either drive down South and or arrange shipping of "real sugar" Coke because they just won't drink the other stuff.
I guess its a good thing we don't keep soda in the house and my 4 year old has never tried that, or McDonalds or Burger King or anything else.. its not hard..just don't drink/eat it.
I feel like such a bad parent now - I let my child eat Happy Meals - AND HAVE SOFT DRINKS!!!!! I have even purchased Whopper Jrs for my child - OH NO!!!!!
Wait... we also cook meals at home, and we enjoy those meals together while we talk about our daily experiences.
I feel like such a failure .
