If someone sent me live lobsters, I would take them to the ocean and set them free.

One of the area's churches used to have a live Maine Lobster sale around holiday time. Anyone know if that is still done as a fund-raiser?

I love homemade goodies as gifts -- my waistline doesn't need them, but they are so tasty, and I like to see what others make/bake. I also like to share. One of the sweetest old women I knew used to make that salty/sweet snack mix with the Chex cereals and nuts and pretzels, with Worchestshire sauce and garlic salt. Sort of spoiled it for me when Chex started making something like it year round, but honestly, the manufactured kind has just never been as good.

I also like getting Harry & David pears. They are delicious, baked, and topped with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream. I have served them at dinner parties, and gotten rave reviews.

My BIL is scalloping now instead of lobstering. His traps are home until after shrimping is done. A few places might still have fund raisers but probably nothing like years past.

I'm a newly diagnosed diabetic. I usually make a ton of fudge and other sweets at Christmas to fill gift baskets. I didn't this year because I knew I wouldn't stay out of the fudge. My husband tracked down fudge made with fructose instead of white sugar for me. It's definitely my favorite food gift.

Last year I received boudin, hot & fresh from my friend in Louisiana!
And anyone who knows a lil' about Louisiana knows that when the 'HOT & FRESH BOUDIN' sign comes one, then comes the crowd!

Another "hint, hint!"

Brother sent me a box of frozen fish and shellfish from Alaska and they are great. Halibut, salmon, smoked salmon and king crab.

My favorite is Junior's Cheesecake. It's so good, but it gets pricey with the shipping. So, now we've found a very fair stand-in with Publix's NY style cheesecake. I'm gonna have some after eating left over Christmas dinner tonight!

Mine were Maine lobsters so I don't think the waters here are cold enough for them

Yum, what a delicious and fun gift! I got some really tasty candy apples as a gift, I will have to look on the box for the company when I get home because they are amazing. I saw that 1-800-Flowers is also offering some tasty and organic treats, and I would love to receive something like that, since I try to stay all natural. That gets a little harder this time of year though!
