Its only the beginning of September, but I am already seeing the pumpkin-flavored stuff hitting the shelves, so I thought it would be fun to hear about the best and worst of them.

The inspiration for this thread is that tonight I went to Krispy Kreme and while I normally only get the original glazed, I could not pass up their Pumpkin Cheesecake donut.

I never thought I would indulge in a pumpkin flavored item so early in the season... but since the Christmas decorations will probably be out next week, maybe I should get them while I can.

I will report back after I eat the donut.

Have you had anything pumpkin-flavored yet?

I've never had anything "pumpkin-flavored" except for some roasted pumpkin. However, I've tried items that have been pumpkin pie spice flavored - some were okay and some were just bad.

I think pumpkin beer is really the only thing besides pumpkin pie/bread that I make sure to get each fall. Schlafly pumpkin beer is the best.

Oh I did have a pumpkin scone at Starbucks last fall when they were out of the one a occasionally treat myself to. I remember it being good. I'm sure I've gotten pumpkin spice cream cheese or coffee creamer before, but I'm not sure.

I really like pumpkin flavor, but I just can't think of anything else...

So I ate the pumpkin cheesecake donut from Krispy Kreme tonight and it was very yummy! Basically a filled donut with a creamy filling - tastes like pumpkin cheesecake - and then some type of crumbly topping on top of icing on top..

All in all quite good if you are in the mood for such a donut.

I like Dogfish Head Punkin Ale.

I'm not crazy about pumpkin flavored things. I do like pumpkin pie.

Bubba Gump said it best:

Anyway, like I was sayin', pumpkin is the fruit of the “fall”. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, pumpkin-kabobs, pumpkin creole, pumpkin gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple pumpkin, lemon pumpkin, coconut pumpkin, pepper pumpkin, pumpkin soup, pumpkin stew, pumpkin salad, pumpkin and potatoes, pumpkin burger, pumpkin sandwich. That- that's about it.

I haven't seen it yet but the only "pumpkin" product I get excited for is pumpkin eggnog. YUMMY!

I did buy pumpkin pop tarts for the little ones. I tried a bite. Blah...not much flavour.
