Is it a good idea? Has anyone tried this?

I don't mind paying for the hot water, btw. It's just I really like my own teabags so theres no point in ordering their tea when I have my own.

You can still tip the baristas even if it is free!

Just like going into any restaurant with a discount coupon or gift card that relieves you from paying, you should tip the barista as if you had paid full price for a tea.

Why should it be free? The water and electricity to heat it isn't free to Starbucks, why should they give it to you for free? Also, are you just looking for water, or a free cup and accoutrements?

It amazes me sometimes when people expect businesses to just give away things for free.

Did you even read her post or did you go off just on the thread title alone? She already said she doesn't mind paying but wanted to know if she should even ask.
