I'm looking for a piece that would go with my set. I do not think it exists, but maybe someone here knows of something...
I want a:
plate the size of a saucer or very small plate
to be used as a tabletop cutting board - I guess similar to restaurant bread cutting boards
patterned
with support close to the edges so it won't tip over
not convex, but flat topped
...is there any such animal?

How did you want to use it? What comes to mind are individual cheese boards. Try searching for that.

I have some wooden plates that are exactly as you described. I bought them in West Germany years ago.
I'll try to find a picture. Here's a small picture of one with food on it. It's an Abendbrot plate. It's a pretty good size, not tiny.
If you want small plates, your best bet outside of Japan is in an Asian store. They have lots of small plates.

It's tricky finding cutting boards that aren't just plain wood. You want patterns. You mean like these?

I may have misunderstood. I thought the wooden plate was separate from the other small plates.
The wooden plate cannot be too small or it won't be useful for cutting.
I would not want any pattern on the wooden plate, as it could come off on the food while cutting. As one who has a lot of experience with Abendbrot plates, the round personalized plates would not stand up, in my opinion to the rigors of cutting.

Anything you would use a knife to cut - post cooking - or for uncooked foods like bread.

i'd rather stay away from wood. I would prefer something in a stone or corning ware.

They had both marble and slate etc in the mini cutting boards. I saw those earlier.

Perhaps a small ceramic trivet. They're the right size.

Search for Corian cutting boards. They come in a lot of different sizes and shapes, and a variety of colors, too.
Here's an example:
Plain Cutting Boards
Etsy has a lot, too:

You could also talk to a Corian fabricator and see if they'll cut you something custom from some of their scraps.
