My Dad would not sit anywhere with his back not to the wall, and usually preferred booth. Way back in WWII, he was stationed in Brazil. He was in a bar, and suddenly someone pulled is chair out from under him, it resulted in a brawl like you would see on Bonanza! He wasn't sure if he won or lost, he just woke up the next day on the street.....well, he would never sit with his back exposed again
