Ex Trader Joe Executive is launching a "fast food" healthy option grocery store concept. This is long overdue! So far there is only one concept store in Boston. You can read about it here: Trader Joe

Interesting concept, doubt it will work except in super select markets.

That's a very European concept.

Which figures give Aldis and TJ German ownership.

There are a lot of supermarkets that currently offer such a spread - Wegman's, HyVee, selected Kroger stores among others.

What I am anxious to see is the pricing. When they say "fast food" pricing, are they talking the prices on the "dollar menu" or the prices that you find at Chipotle, Shake Shack, and Five Guys?

They mean cheap prices. As it has in the article " $1.19 for a dozen eggs, $1.99 for a block of cheddar cheese and 55 cents for a can of tuna."

If the prices are good enough, it could work.

Trader Joe's sized stores can shoehorn into something much smaller than something like Aldi.
