Way back in the day when Coke went to "New Coke" for a while, I switched to RC and liked it.
I don't know why I gave Coca-Cola back my business, but I did.
Anyway, good article.
I don't drink sodas much any more, but the next time I get a craving for one I think I'll buy an RC Cola instead.
I remember my Mom drinking Diet-Rite, and then Tab. She was mad when they weren't available, and I even remember her talking about how stupid the cyclamate ban was, with the huge amounts you would actually have to drink to have any adverse effects.

Tab contained cyclamates.
I have always wondered one things. Had cyclamates remained on the market as they did in Canada for years, how many people would have died from cancer vs. how many would die from complications of diabetes.

Tab is still sold.
Prolly new formula but tastes the same.
Wrong. Tab was originally sweetened with cyclamates until their ban. Then, they converted to saccharine in the United States. In Canada, cyclamates were used for years.
Good article. As kids we loved RC Cola and Nehi. At that time the soda/pop came in glass bottles
which were returned and as kids we got 2 cents per bottle. It was a green thing to do however,
we would spend it on penny candy, soda/pop or Kayo. Our dentist was grateful.
