As first reported by GrubGrade, Burger King is testing an all-new Whopper burrito, aptly called the Whopperrito, at its restaurants in Hermitage, PA, and potentially more locations throughout the state. As you may have guessed at this point, the burrito is made with your typical Whopper ingredients -- hamburger beef, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, pickles, onions, and ketchup -- all wrapped up in a flour tortilla. It's almost as if Burger King took Taco Bell's old "Think outside the bun" slogan a little too seriously.
It sounds pretty interesting to me: At least worth a try. Burger King is one of the few truly fast foods restaurants I enjoy. Of course many of the places we all eat fall into the "fast food" group in my opinion, but if we are really talking standard fast food, most we do not use more than a time or two a year.
I'm too far north to be very familiar with authentic Mexican cuisine. But we have a chain up in Canada called "Mucho Burrito" which isn't half bad, IMO. They stick to basics, and it's more home-style than fast-food in its focus. They do serve take-out as much as dine-in, but it's not deep fried high-calorie craziness like most fast food places.
It isn't anything like Taco Bell.
I've never been to a Chipotle.
What other big Mexican or Tex-Mex chains are there in the USA? Personally, I'd rather find a sit-down restaurant with a real Mexican menu, but what chains are up-and-coming? There's got to more out there than "Whopperrito"...

Oh, there is, there most certainly is. Around here, you can throw a rock in the air and when it comes down it'll hit a Mexican restaurant, bounce off, then land on a another one.
