I think we will have rice and a PFChangs stir fry. Toll house cookie bars for dessert.

I have a pot of meat sauce on the stove, with fresh basil, onions and garlic, meatballs and pork ribs. Serving that with linguini. I did not have red wine so I added a splash of balsamic. Has anyone ever done that?

My husband is cooking tonight. He says he is making beef and broccoli. I am pretty sure he will make a batch of udon noodles to serve with it. It sounds great to me!

Tonight, something new for me ... chicken tagine using preserved lemons that I made myself. (See //www.city-data.com/forum/recip...-lemons-2.html for details! )

Here it is with the spices etc. (garlic, ginger, saffron, cinnamon, preserved lemons including some of the rind) just before I added the chicken ...

And here it is in my bowl over white rice (I don't much care for couscous) ...

I added olives (couldn't find them at first so had to add them late) and some chili flakes to "up" the spiciness, but otherwise I pretty much followed the recipe as written. The sauce is fantastic -- next time, I will make extra. YUM!

Dinners below look inviting

On our way back we stopped at a fish and chips place and after a lot of convincing we all stopped at Baskin Robbins where I had a scoop of Jamocha and a scoop of mint chocolate ice cream.

My tomato plants are in full flush, so tonight I'm making a free form cherry tomato tart. I got the idea from Pioneer Woman. She's always a good source when I'm not sure what to do with my garden bounty.

I have no idea right now. Spoiled brat has been in ICU for 2 days now, hope to get him in a regular room today and released tomorrow. I feel sorry for him, hooked up to all those machines. Apparently he got a massive infection for a cat he was cat sitting for that pretty much attacked him about 4 days ago. His temp shot up to 104 plus in a period of a few hours and he couldn't stand up. Anyway that is the story and I am sticking to it. He is much better, probably didn't even need to be in ICU yesterday. but back to dinner, I guess I will just fix myself a sandwich or something. I certainly am not going to starve. For him, as hospital food goes, this one is the best.
