The plan was to take my boys downtown for fireworks, street performers, skating, etc. We were going to eat off the food trucks. But, always a but, the temperature right now is 5F with it feeling like -16F. Who knows how cold it will be after sunset.
Plan B for dinner will be having subs delivered. Although I reserve the right to change my mind I am going to order a cheeseburger sub with lettuce, pickles, hots, mayo, toasted.

My neighbor grew a monster daikon radish for me and delivered it last night.

I'm going to cook the greens today, they're extremely good for you and don't keep as well as the root. Trying to decide between radish top "pesto" and radish top soup, which there is no way in holy heck DH will eat.

Will serve the rest of my holiday prime rib on mini rye toasts with horseradish sauce. If I make the pesto, that would probably be nice on some of the toasts too.

Small green salad.

Tangerines and cookies for dessert.

I'm making mulled cider too, in moscow mule mugs.

We're enjoying a selection of cheeses, smoked salmon with capers and sliced red onions, egg salad, cocktail breads, beet salad, and wine.

I'm still not over the flu, so I may pass on wine.

We'll have a champagne toast at midnight...if I'm still awake.
