Thanks for the birthday wishes. I might have overdone it last night so doing everything as simple as possible today.
On that note tonight's dinner is some meatballs and red sauce I pulled out of the freezer. I'll serve with whatever pasta is in the pantry and some garlic bread. I might have the husband make the garlic bread. He's good like that!
What would we do without our freezers? How wonderful it is to pull somehing out: heat it up, make a salad and you have a great meal, compared to how our grandparents and great grandparents lived and cooked

I have a small roast with mushrooms, beef broth, seasoning in the crockpot. Will shred it up and serve over egg noodles, with sautéed kale on the side. Probably some green beans for the kale-hating kids, too.
Miso and ginger marinated tofu Japanese eggplant, shataki mushrooms, green onions, pease and Asian cabbage in a spicy lime and sesame sauce served over soba nodles.
Ruby red grapefruit sections for me. Strawberry cake for DH.
