Eggland's Best? They don't seem any better than cheap eggs to me. The ones from the local farm are very good, but the supply is limited.

If you have allergies, be careful with duck eggs. My sister had many allergies (soaps, cosmetics, hair dye, cats). We ate eggs from her mallards, very yummy, but she got so sick!

I buy The Country Hen eggs. They are $3.99 for half a dozen but what a difference in taste, especially to this city girl who never knew there was a difference in eggs. They are not only cage free but free range and non GMO.

I don't know. When I was a kid we always had chickens & fresh eggs. I always swore the difference between our fresh eggs and store bought was immediately noticeable. (Of course our chickens were free-range, but we didn't call it that back then.)

Nowadays, I honestly can't tell the difference between supermarket eggs and eggs from the farm, except for the beatiful color of the yolks and the way the whites stand up.

To me they taste pretty much the same.

LOL... eggs never are GMO. Just like oat meal is fat free. Or coffee.

I get my eggs from the "girls" out back every day. Can't imagine buying store bought eggs. Havent done it in decades. I used to sell eggs, but ended up with people getting mad when I couldnt supply everyone.

I never thought about brands of eggs and always just bought the generic supermarket ones, but when I bought a more expensive brand at a small market, I realized that the shells were less brittle and I could break an egg without pieces of shell going all over. That alone was reason for me to start buying a different brand.

Our problem was our local Coyotes and raccoons felt the same way about our chickens.

Never noticed any difference in the taste of the eggs though. Duck eggs are very different than chicken eggs, but no difference between store eggs and "fresh"

Buying from markets does not mean the eggs are any "fresher". They may have been in his stock for a month or more. The roadside markets and back yard farmers are not regulated at all. We gave away a lot of our eggs and people woudl often talk about how "fresh" they were. Some of them were laid in an odd place and sat for days if not weeks before we discovered them. We did not sort them out from the ones that were laid that morning and they did not taste any different. If you do a blind taste test, you will find no one can tell the difference, especially if you add seasoning or peppers and onions etc.
