Silly title to thread I know.
Couldn't figure out how to title it.
If us humans are omnivores, but mostly carnivores in the centuries past(evolution) , why now do we like\crave carbs so much? ie: pastas, breads.
Where is the connection? If there is one.
Maybe we craved them then?
How did we get the carbs?
It seems by history buffs that we hunted and gathered.
Hunted meat and gathered plants to eat.

You're asking the wrong question.

I won't ruin the surprise, but human evolution from other primates is based on something completely unexpected.

Thanks Jet for that link.
That was interesting.
So, if I understand it right, because of the large amount of neurons we have in our brains we need the energy food.
And carbs do this.
Her viewpoints on why we evolved, our brains, was interesting.
Carbs enough from plants to equate to the pastas and breads that so much of us crave? And is claimed that it is so bad for us?
I don't understand what your first question means, i.e., what do you mean by "Carbs enough from plants". All plant food has carbs. You seem to be stuck more on simple, processed carbs (I have never "craved" pasta, but I do crave sugar sometimes).
Anyway, it seems another poster answered your question.

COOKED foods, not raw. People on raw food diets often lose weight (though they typically need to process that food via blending, chopping, etc.)
RE: Energy - fats (and ketones) make a happy brain, too. (9 calories/gm of fat vs. 4 calories/gm for carbs)
Hunter-gatherers may have had a ketogenic diet (high fat, moderate protein, low carb), with carbohydrate rich foods only available in season.
Craving food is diminished on a ketogenic diet.
. . . .
Evolution Cordon Bleu
There are many other intrinsic differences between humans and primates, derived from the change in diet to softer cooked foods - smaller jaw muscles and thus less pressure on the skull (compare the jaw muscle attachment in other primates).

Like you know, we are omnivores. The 'craving' of carbs is pretty much something we 'learn' by being fed lots of carbs in the forms of cereals, pasta, breads, etc. Carbs will essentially break down into simple sugars, which IS something that we tend to crave, but they break down much easier than by consuming plants.
I have a gluten allergy, so I had to cut carbs in the forms of these lovely cereals, pasta and breads, and for the first few weeks it was pretty hard simply because I had to change a lifetime of habits (bagel or cereal for breakfast, fast food, pasta for dinner (<married to an Italian, so THIS was hard).
And we're really not straight carnivores through evolution; primates are mostly plant eaters, though it's been observed in the wild that at least the greater apes will consume proteins in the forms of insects, eggs, even small animal prey<this is fairly limited.

We are hardwired to crave sugars (i.e. carbs), which start for us in the form of breast milk. This is why babies latch on to sodas and it's hard to break them of that habit.
