but I slow cooked it...for pulled bbq chicken and then froze it in Tupperware containers ..it was good
sounds like something I might do. We all do things pretty stupid or as you put it, short sighted from time to time. At least you had pulled chicken available when you needed it. I bet it was just fine.

As for me, I love to buy in bulk. And I prefer to freeze my own meats or whatever. I can see, when the food is fresh, I know what is in it and I can package the way I want.

don't get me wrong, I do buy frozen as well, but I am 90% fresh everything.

I bought a new Foodsaver from Amazon a year ago. The sealing strip was defective and it left a small gap in the seal near the middle of the bag. Amazon replaced it and paid for return shipping.

You might check for something like that on yours.

I have had 2 foodsaver type of machines: one was cheap and lasted about 3 years. Then when the heating unit stopped working I decided to replace it with a better one: it only sealed 1/2 the time, took inches and inches of plastic to get to the place where it would work. I too, should have sent it back. Amazon is good good about replacing faulty purchases but I just gave it to the thrift shop. Now, I have a new one added to my never ending bucket list.
