Glad to see others know it is legal to eat in the US. The Feds merely de-funded USDA inspections for commercial sale. (Sorry if someone already mentioned that.)
I'm a little spoiled in that I usually know where my meat comes from, often from which animal it came from. I'm picky about horse meat that way, too.
If I had a friend trot out offers of free meat without needing to pony up cash in return I'd be jockeying for position at the front of the chow line and digging in with unbridled enthusiasm.
[quote=elnina;48555990]We have this tendency for a kind of morality that we apply to human beings to leach out to other species, and then the criteria for which it leaches out to is seemingly rather arbitrary.
Not arbitrary to those who have and love horses.

Plenty of people care about those issues, but fighting industries where money is the bottom line and dishonesty rules is not so easy. Many people sitting in their condos, are far removed from animal suffering and view it as an abstract concept, but you're correct, it's the wrong thread for debate..
I'm always up to try something new. Recently I had camel, lizard and ostrich. All good.
