Take that!

Normally it would be loaded with tomatoes and red bell pepper but I ran out of both that day.
And burned it a little.

I used to be addicted to jacks frozen pizzas. I've been eating only these rectangle ones for a few months now. Last night I had a jacks for old times sake. It was beyond disgusting. And I even added like 20 cherry tomatoes. Pure cardboard. And so "empty". Gross.

Well, no judgment there, lol. Are we all obligated to follow your lead in culinary choices? A true foodie would not have such rigid rules on food pairings and limitations on which meal to eat certain foods. Taste cannot be accounted for, while I don't particularly care for cheddar on pizza, I'm certainly not going to take a position on whether others do.

Papa Johns latest promotion is a cheeseburger pizza: secret sauce in place of pizza sauce, with beef, bacon, tomatoes and sliced dill pickles. Believe it or not, it is delicious.

Fwiw, that controversial Hawaiian pizza (Canadian bacon and pineapple) hails from Canada if I'm not mistaken. I know this is a big deal for a lot of people - pineapple on pizza is like a turd in the punchbowl to them. Thing is, I was introduced to it early enough, back in the mid-80s, and with jalapeño slices added, that I am a huge fan of the Hawaiian pizza today.

OP: Feel free to add a bit of cheddar if that floats your boat. Just bear in mind that ounce per ounce, there are 2 extra g of saturated fat in it vs. the mozzarella.

There are a lot of 4-cheese and 5-cheese pizzas out there, many of them of the frozen variety. Yes, one of those cheeses is often cheddar. (It's probably because it's sharp and flavorful.) One of my favorites of those has a little bit of bleu cheese -- delicious in its sharpness. If you're counting saturated fat grams, by all means skip the cheddar. It is delicious, though.

Judgement? No. Well-founded opinion? Yes, indeed!

I will make a judgement however on Papa John's. Perhaps if one was not accustomed to chain store pizza rather than that made by experienced individual pizzerias they would have a different perspective.

I'm from New Jersey - land of the tomato pie. My father used to order a pie covered in marinara and just a sprinkling of parmesan from a nearby pizza place. It was awesome. (Ok, for sure, I would dump on a lot of extra parm, lol).

Really focus on a good tomato-based sauce as a topping, and then just add a reduced amount of cheese over that.

I would omit toppings like sausage before I messed with the cheese.

So you're a snob too? Why exactly is your opinion well founded - are you Gordon Ramsay or something?

Your inappropriate and condescending comments make me laugh - they are clearly made from ignorance. Have a great day, nutty!
