They seem to have disappeared from my area stores. Watkins is being sold now but I find their extracts to be not as strong as McCormick especially the pure almond extract. I guess I could buy them online but just wonder if it's dissappearing everywhere?

McCormick is probably 80% of the offerings here. It sounds like your store has decided not to carry them.

In most places I have lived, it seems like the extract market was pretty evenly split between McCormick and Adams.

When my husband was in college at UT- Austin, he had a job as an overnight Security Guard for a couple of years. One of the places he routinely worked was the Adams extract factory. He said the whole place smelled like vanilla

In my area (suburbs of Chicago) they're pretty prolific. And it's the only brand that is pure extract.

Lots of McCormick out here. It's the only tartar sauce I've not liked. Won't buy anything else after that.

Wow, interesting. I guess I will have to order it online. Just glad to hear it's not out of business.

Maybe try a different grocery store? Walmart? Target? Every place varies regionally what they care. When in doubt, check Amazon. Maybe even try walmart.com and have it delivered to your local WalMart?

Go online, if your stores don't carry it.

We have both McCormick and Spice Islands (SF Bay Area), among others.

What I miss are the very small size containers with the sliding top that allowed for sprinkling or inserting in small measuring spoons, that also leveled the spoons as they were removed from the little containers. I think those were McCormick.

I hate to throw away spices that have lost their power, which is what happens with most of mine, since we don't bake all that much.
