I have lived in America for over 10 years. I noticed that foods in all the restaurants (fast food, Chinese, Italian, Japanese, Mexican...) taste the same as 10 years ago. There are rarely any new items either.
When I travel back, there are new popular dishes each time.

WOW!!! You've been to ALL of the restaurants in America??? That's impressive.
Let me see... what has happened in the last ten years???? Well, the street food craze has certainly changed the culinary landscape; the farm-to-table concept has become popular; the craft beer explosion has definitely influenced the culinary offerings (and has even reached Europe); fusion cuisine has become quite popular.
With that, I'll just say it: Stop eating ten-year-old canned food.

that has got to be the most outlandish statement I have seen in a long time. Almost every restaurant I have eaten in changes their menu monthly or certainly more than every 10 years. I am not quite sure what you are referring to or where you are from. Of course there will always be some similarities, as certain ethnic foods have certain tastes and spices but menus do change and new, sometimes exciting flavors are added. There was a time when we didn't even know what Cillantro was for instance, or hot salsa was not hot. We have changed our way of cooking veggies and even fast food restaurants add new items to the menu all the time.

You must only be going to chain restaurants. Here's a tip: TGI Fridays, Panda Express, and Olive Garden are not true representations of food in America.

Betta, I'm really surprised to hear you say that. I think things have changed more drastically in the last 10 years than in the previous 100 years, as far as American food choices.
Sweet potato fries. Pumpkin everything. Whoever heard of Go Chu Jang before now - and now it's everywhere! Hatch chilis. Indian spices in traditional American dishes. Salmon tacos.
And the best new option - Lobster Mac and Cheese. Yes please.

Lobster mac and cheese was the first thing that popped into my head when I saw the thread title. I'm pretty sure just about every restaurant has changed their menu in the past few years to include this dish. Avacado toast and roasted Brussels sprouts are also other items that are now popping up on a lot of menus.
Even Taco Bell's menu is the same as it has been for 20 years.
LOL Taco Bell's menu changes daily. Freaking breakfast now???
(Btw, it's not too bad )
