I haven't baked anything today, yet. But this evening I intend to bake a pecan pie and a pumpkin pie, both from scratch, of course. Mmmmmmm - pie!

I baked chocolate chip cookies from a King Arthur flour mix because I had a big coupon on it. I added part of a bag of coconut I had left over from something else. They're good.
I'm from both VA and MD and have always heard of this cake, but never tried it. I desperately want to bake something today but I need a few more days of sunshine so I can walk off some extra pounds gained when it was cold and snowy.
Alm, that cake looks fantastic, but it looks like a killer to make. I'm terrible at making nice-looking layers.
