As for “real” food, here are a few trends that popped up during the 90s. Maybe you’ll get inspired to make a few dishes.
Dried cranberries began popping up in every salad, and so did Balsamic vinegar, sun-dried tomatoes and goat cheese.
Corona Extra began to be served with a chunk of lime (although that is still the case in many bars today).
Americans discovered Asian food (beyond Chop Suey and Chow Mein).
Turkey bacon, tofurkey, and broccolini made their entrance in the first half of the decade."
The '90's were when my kids were very little and I'm trying to remember things that people brought to pot-lucks that they would eat. One thing that came to me right way was the crunchy ramen salad with chicken. It seems there were always multiple versions of this at an event.
They've brought Zima back on the market, right? Maybe something with sundried tomatoes and balsamic vinegar?
You got to it first - I was just about to say ALL of this - LOL.
Be sure whatever you do is Tuscan themed.
