Well, I'd like to see that dumb cliche "comfort food" go away.

For me, "comfort food" just means that the person cooking it isn't going to try to elevate it to a fine dining experience. Not to say you can't find "comfort food" in a high-end restaurant.

Comfort food to me indicates carbs, cheese, and lots of fat are going to be used!!!

That's where you get your deconstructed mac and cheese and artisanal pickles, with a charcoal sundae for dessert

I cringe when I hear:

jalapeeno for jalapeño
habañero for habanero
payaya for paella
plantins for plantains
mafunga for mofongo
etc
etc
etc

Super tasters do exist. About 30% of the world's population is made up of super tasters.

One of the ways you can tell if you're a super tasters is observe your reaction when you taste many of the artificial sweeteners on the market.

Do they taste sweet to you? Then you have normal taste buds. You're in the 70% category.

If you're a super taster (like me), most of the artificial sweeteners taste like obnoxious, bitter chemicals that make you want to wretch. They're not sweet at all. I'm not over exaggerating. When I eat anything that contains Splenda or aspartame, it's a disgusting taste.

Probably why you have so many hometowns listed - people run you out after the third "yummy."

Just realized reading here though that "num num" is worse, much worse. (In the privacy of one's own home when speaking solely to a human under the age of four it is doubtful that anyone would care - at least until that child reaches the age of seven and remembers it one day.)
