I had set up my 15 bean soup in the crock pot, set the Wi-Fi plug to turn on at 11, but forgot to leave the crock pot "on" so it never heated up.

The soup contains dry beans, chicken stock, cooked ham and onion. It has sat out for about 11 hours. Is it OK to cook tomorrow or should I ditch it?

My only concern is the ham but it was fully cooked and submerged in the water so I don't know if that's something to be concerned about since it will be well heated tomorrow.

If OK to cook and eat, should I reduce the cooking time because the beans would have been soaking for 24 hours?

Here is the recipe if that helps. I used a 1 lb cooked ham steak for the meat: 15 Bean Soup Crock Pot or Slow Cooker Recipe | Hurst Beans

If its in a crock pot turn it on before you go to bed and your 15 bean soup will be ready for breakfast.

I think it's fine. Ham is only semi-perishable, as it's been cured with preserving agents. I wouldn't recommend that you cook up the soup if it contained raw ground beef or raw chicken, but ham should be just fine.

My husband would totally just turn it on and call it good. I'd probably scrap it.

I'm generally one that would toss most anything that was questionable but with those ingredients.. I'd chance it.

Unless your house is really hot while it was sitting in the cp, I would go ahead & cook it. Then eat it.

Have you been observing and copying my house?

Unless it is your house hot, it should be fine. I would still cook it, but then I wouldn't find it as appetizing and make DH eat it all.

So OP, how did it turn out? If we don't hear from you, we're going to have to assume that it was a fatal decision to keep it.

I've had food poisoning, and it is brutal. I never take any chances with food. If you have to ask the question, just toss it and start over.
