The other night I was ordering a burger & the side choice was fries or tater tots. aghhhh who the heck wants tater tots for dinner. I don't really like them any time of day.
Tater tots have been around for quite some time (invented in 1953). Apparently, Americans eat 70,000,000 pounds of tater tots per year.
Now, who wouldn't like deep-fried, grated potatoes?
I like to bite into a potato & actually taste potato, not a pound of grease, I have no time for shoe string fries either. I know tater tots have been around forever, but they are a new, side dish on offer with burgers, around here anyhow.
I KNOW tater tots have been around for ever & a day, & of course, I have eaten them, I just do not like them.
My question was, when did they become a mainstream alternative to fries?
