Sell date is 4/21, bought it on Friday 4/20. Moved it from the fridge to the freezer this morning (Monday) because I wasn’t sure when we were going to cook it (probably broil it). Then moved it to the fridge this evening so we can cook it tomorrow night. Is it still safe?

Thoroughly cooking will kill any bacterial dangers......it might taste a little "funny" though. Fermented meat and fish is eaten by a lot of people.

Also was the sale date on the package when it was weighed, with the price. The date that is put in to the scale is probably one day. However the sell by code on the box the salmon came in is probably longer. I would of called the store....they could tell you the date...if it had been bought the day before

not always; some fish can have such a strong smell it appears spoiled or too old to use when it is just fine.

I buy fish and cook the same day I purchase it. I want it fresh as possible.

Like Bluefish. Oily and smells fishy. But, I know that when I buy it

I love it, especially grilled

I cook a lot of salmon. As far as fish goes, it has a relatively long shelf life. It will usually smell to the point you don't want to eat it before it would make you sick.

We eat salmon at least once a week, sometimes twice. I like it fresh, cooked either that day or the very next.

I just had to return some stuffed salmon to Costco. We have been buying it there for years, and love it, but one night I got some, and when it was cooked it had a very bad odor. I tasted just a very small bit of it, and spit it out, my nose was right.

I called Costco and they said dump it and come in for a refund, no questions asked, and I did. But we have been turned off a little by that experience and haven't gotten the stuffed salmon there since. We probably will in the future, but we are still a little gun shy.
