I had the new Popeye's chicken sandwich and yes the lines were long. I hadn't been to Popeyes in years as they tend to be located far from where I live. It was good and definitely reminded me of Chick-Fil-A's chicken sandwich. It's definitely better than the run-of-the-mill fast food chicken sandwiches. I only get fast food about once or twice a month, so I may try my next one while traveling again.
Popeyes and CFA might have the best big chain sandwiches/burgers, however I am sure if you know where to go in most cities you could find better at independents or smaller chains.

I’ve had the sandwich twice. It is very juicy and the flavor is excellent. Not something I’m gonna go out of my way for, but definitely up to the hype.
Go to Youtube and watch the fights over this chicken sandwich. Insane. I guess Popeye's can't keep up with the demand. One customer even jumped through the drive-up window and started fighting the employees.
Having just read an article by a food writer it seems there is a classic version with mayonnaise and a spicy version with the heat of the sauce being the only difference. Either Popeye's version was far superior to the CFA offering.
This is similar to other reviews I've seen. Has anyone found a comparison that did not favor Popeye's?
