https://www.restaurantbusinessonline...-day-breakfast

"McDonald’s is working to develop its permanent menu coming out of the pandemic, and one thing that could be in for some big changes is All-Day Breakfast."

That's because hardly anyone is going to McD for breakfast like the old days. Then having breakfast on the menu cuts their ability to make regular menu items. Since they have to keep a line open for breakfast and it's not selling as well as it used to.

The only time I have McD's breakfast is at the airport. I used to get the yogurt parfait, but that is discontinued. And most of the time I just bring some sort of protein bar from home and other snacks for the airport. Or get oatmeal from Starbucks or Peets.

If I go out for breakfast (pre-Covid) I would either go to brunch or go to a coffee shop with fancy toast.I prefer to pair my going out breakfast with good espresso drinks so McDs doesn't really cut it.

I used to go a little bit more like 15 years ago when I drove to work, and worked in an industrial office park. I would get a sausage biscuit every few weeks for a treat!

When I'm on a road trip, I actually crave McDonald's breakfasts, but I only have them for breakfast and I don't have them if I'm not on the road.

Are people not going for breakfast during breakfast hours, or are they not selling as many breakfast items during non-breakfast hours?

I have been to the drive-thru for a couple times over the last month for an EggaMuffin and they certainly seemed pretty busy.

My wife enjoys the All Day Breakfast menu option and she’d be glad if it comes back. I’m ambivalent about it, right now.

I'm kind of on the fence with this one. I do like their breakfast but i feel like it's a threat to a whole bunch of niche breakfast spots and McDonald's is already so dominant.

Unfortunately here in Arizona the All-Day Breakfast menu didn't have Biscuit sandwiches, only McMuffins. I prefer the Biscuits.

I am a fan of an Egg McMuffin any time of day, but I really only go to McDonalds a handful of times a year.

I feel like the reasonable 1/2 way point on this is to just extend breakfast to 1 pm.

I though I would like to get breakfast but after 12 pm I just didn't crave it.

The weird thing is that our local McD's discontinued the breakfast menu, I guess because they were opening at 11am and closing at 6pm. Too few hours to justify producing breakfast foods, I guess.

I love Egg McMuffins. I was always watching for the special deals in the app -- two for one, one for $1, one free if you buy something else, etc.

Now they're extending their hours again; I think they're open to 10pm. So maybe they'll start to offer the breakfast menu again at some point.

And yes, I like having breakfast menu available all day.
