I found a strange object in a jar of instant coffee. I sent it to the company and the response was that it was part of a rubber collar that sealed an institutional-size pressure cooker. They apologized, sent me a couple of coupons for free coffee. Done.
A loaf of bread, Friday night, three little kids waiting for grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup. Bread was streaked with black grease. No grilled cheeses. Soup and crackers. Contacted the company and they explained the slicers get greased each shift and the first couple of loaves are discarded. Ooops. Missed this one. Apologized, sent me a couple of coupons while assuring me that it wouldn't have been harmful if we ate it because it's food grade grease.
Bought a frozen meal kit at Aldi. Heated the wok, tossed in the first component, turned to add the packet of vegetables - wait. What? No vegetables. Luckily I had a few frozen vegs in the freezer and added a few carrots and a few peas and chopped up a mushroom. Next trip to Aldi, I told the young man about the absence of the vegetables, we laughed, he gave me two packages of the same meal kit. No charge. (Vegetable packet in each one).
