This article goes deeper into the results and explanation of where in the production process the lead is likely to increase (of course both lead and cadmium are naturally occurring in the soil).



As a side note, I noticed Trader Joe's brand mentioned in both articles and while several provided comment in this article, Trader Joe's didn't respond. I find it ironic that so many people have so much trust in Trader Joe's yet they don't seem particularly interested.

Not worried about chocolate. I took up asbestos floor tiles for years before the warnings. My doctor says that My lungs are clear...mmmm death by chocolate.

Just be mindful if you enjoy the heavy metal chocolates and don't overdo. Heavy metals accumulate in the body in various organs and in bones, and they replace vital nutrients; they don't get metabolized into safer by-products.
