I have a whole array of inverters from the $9.95 to a pair of 2000W Tripp Lite Powerverters. I was kind of surprised when my coffee maker (hot plate in it) killed a marine battery in an hour or so. I tried to figure out how to calculate the discharge time and the power loss over the long cord, but I just can't seem to get it right. Anyway, my crockpot in a cooler idea was a bit crackpot but it was all I could think of given the cold ambient air.
