San Francisco, CA (AHN) - The First District of Appeal in San Francisco ruled that it is the prerogative of prison officials to determine the food temperature of inmates.

The decision overturned a ruling by the Pelican Bay State Prison in Del Norte County mandating jail officials to ensure inmates receive hot meals.

John, did you mean to say inmate meals or the temp of inmates? Most inmates should be 98.6. LOL

I think bread and water should always be served at room temperature. But that's just me.

They get 3 meals a day. That's more than some kids right outside the jail get. They should stop complaining.

Those inmates wouldn't like me in charge of their meals because they would get oatmeal, toast, juice or milk for breakfast. Lunch would be PBJ's with milk or water and supper would be beans with milk or water. Period. Every day period.

If our prisons would stop being a somewhat cushy place to stay with all the comforts they get maybe it would reduce crime in our country. They get 3 meals, a bed, AC or heat depending on the weather, bathroom facilities, TV, free clothes, free haircuts, a library, exercise equipment and 24 hour hands on treatment/supervision. That is a lot more than many homeless people or poor class citizens have in this country.

Those guys are in Ad Seg for a reason, usually a very violent reason. They complain about everything. My hubby worked Ad Seg for awhile and he got a million complaints every day about the food. Not enough, over cooked, too much sauce, too spicy, too bland, blah blah blah. The inmates would threaten to sue him everyday too. Crazy.

I have heard where some people actually commit petty crimes just to be put in jail so they have their meals, beds and some tv for entertainment. Hmmmmmmm....I'm thinkin' something looks wrong here.
