Hmmm... can tell there's not a lot of Southerners here yet!
Roast Pork for a Fat and healthy New Year, Hoppin' John (black eyed peas and rice), with onions and spices, for luck and 'good seasons', and collard greens for wealth!

LOL, I thought this was for NY Eve. On NY day, we'll also have Hoppin John. No greens b/c we've been having them a lot lately b/c they're so cheap. Probably green beans w/ potatoes in 'em. Cornbread. Maybe either neckbones or ribs or baked chicken...
Well, they were talkin about football, so I assumed they meant New Year's Day.
We had a New Year's Eve party at the house, and we had 250 people. We roasted a whole pig, and had 4 gallons of Hoppin John, 40 bottles of champagne, 20 bottles of various liqours, mixers, and a 10 gallon pot of collards.
At 3 AM we were pushing a friend's MG out of a ditch where he backed across the street, but we had to let our 3-year-old steer - she was the only one sober. We blamed the Hoppin John. Powerful stuff.

I'm hoping you were only driving around your property, not in public.
No one drove, merely pushed. Once we got it back on the road, we pulled it over and parked it... No one was able to drive but the three-year-old - and she couldn't reach the pedals.
