I sure could use some suggestions. I have agreed to provide a dish for our high school graduation "lock-in". My choice is either a snack or dessert. I am leaning towards a snack, since most of the volunteers have offered brownies, cookies etc. There are approx 400 expected to attend. Can anybody give me some ideas for a snack food served at room temperature, that wouldn't be terribly difficult or expensive to make? Thanks!

I second the chips and dip. Make a variety of homemade salsas (mango chipotle, tomatillo, pico de gallo..) to show off your culinary skills.

Believe it or not when I did this for our oldest the veggie trays with dip were huge hits. If I remember correctly the mini carrots and green bell peppers strips always needed refilled. We kept the extra in zippie bags in coolers.

One of the things I LOVE is mixed sammiches cut in triangles.

Great snack, inexpensive, can have a variety of fillings and are really easy to make.

What about chex mix or trail mix? That's easy and cheap.

I also like the chip and dip idea.

I sent these suggestions to the committee head. She said she would get back to me. I'm not really sure what they are looking for. I'm considering the veggies and dip idea. I think the organizers are taking care of the chips, since no prep is required.

If anyone has any other ideas, I'm all ears!
