If you go online and just type in Taco Bell you might be able to see at least fat and calorie content of their food. I don't believe that any of this fast food is good for you...high in sodium, fat etc. Most places are posting nutritional info on their foods so you may want to go online and investigate. We did have a discussion at Weight Watchers class last week about Taco Bell and the lecturer said that Taco Bell was one of the reasons she had gained 60 unnecessary pounds and ended up at WW. So.....be careful. All that fast food eating will catch you!
One semester in college I had two crunchwrap supremes a day. Not very healthy I tell you... I gained weight even though I walked over a mile daily carrying a twenty pound instrument.
I started eating at Taco Bell in 1973 when Tacos were 27 cents and the only things on the menu were tacos, burritos and chalupas.
Since then, I wish I had bought a share of stock every time I have purchased a taco or burrito from the place. I'd be a very rich woman today. LOL
Personally, I prefer Taco Bells' food to McDonalds or anywhere else. I suppose if you eat too much of one thing and not enough of lots of things that it is not too good for you. But what the heck! HUH?
I understand most fast food is bad simply by being deep fried, etc, but if Taco Bell scored a B+, then there must be a reason.
What chemicals is there in the lettuce? The grated cheese? Taco sheels and tortillas?
Mugatu, LOL, I have done the same thing, but it's not like I was totally surprised. I knew beforehand that ordering a double meat burrito, especially with sour cream and all the fixins is going to be high fat. Duh. And ordering two?
Of course, diabetes is a whole 'nother topic thread. But it does not kill you "a piece at a time" if you control your blood sugar.
You're quite ignorant about diabetes my friend. For most people, controlling blood sugar is difficult. It's not simply "take two of these, and you're good to go no matter what you eat". And every time blood sugar is high, the body is damaged. Ever heard of neuropathy? And it does kill you a piece at a time. It can take your toes or your feet. Your fingers. Your leg, a hand. It can start with your eyes. Why do you think some diabetics find out they have the disease through a retina image scan? Why do you think some people who "control their blood sugar" still develop vision problems? Oh, don't forget the kidneys, and what diabetes can do to them. Ever heard of diabetics on dialysis or needing kidney transplants?
I seen it slowly take my sister. Like many other people, she had battled the disease for many years. She was born with a hole in her heart, and still she lived a long life for her condition. But what ultimately killed her was complications from diabetes.....
Barry White was another one who died from "complications from diabetes". And like him, there are countless others who die the same way. But you don't have to take my word for it.
And I'm not going to bother telling you about the preservatives and chemicals in fast food. That's something you can look into.
Try this experiment if you want to. Go buy a McDonnalds hamburger and let it sit somewhere in your house for 8 months. At the end of that length of time, see what you end up with.
I am NOT quite ignorant about diabetes and you are not my friend. I have diabetes as does my companion and my mother, and etc, etc.. I never said controlling blood sugar was easy, nor did I say or imply "you can take two of these and you are good to go no matter what you eat."
I have more life experience and have done more reading on the subject and I still don't need to go around telling people they are ignorant on the subject.
Ignorance is telling someone they are ignorant on a subject when you have absolutely no idea of what they know about diabetes.
If you want to post on what damage diabetes does, fine, but don't start your post calling someone names, that is a flame and a troll post.

My sister was the only one who developed type 1. Regardless of what type you have, it will more than likely catch up with you. Only few are lucky and never have. complications from it.
Besides, Taco Bell having a "B" rating doesn't mean it's good. Find out where they get their beef from. Think about what the cheese is made of. Where does the milk come from? That lettuce is grown where? What's sprayed on it? And the taco shell, how much geneticlly engineered corn is in it? Exactly how is the corn genetically engineered. Or enhanced. Or "enriched" or whatever you want to call it. You know there is such a thing as ammonia treated meat filler right? It's in a lot of fast food places. Not sure about taco bell, but I wouldn't take my chance regardless.
I once left a chicken burrito out on the table for a week and it never went bad. I don't want to eat "mummified" food. No nutritional value. You could eat the wrapper and it would be the same thing nutrition wise.

Go figure...I was going through the drive through line at Taco Bell when I heard on the radio that he was either in a coma or dead. Haven't been back since....but probably not because of that......I can only eat so much of it...once in a blue moon is fine with me. However, it now triggers that one particular day.

Calling someone ignorant may not be name calling, but it is infact telling that person they have no knowledge of what they speak. Which isn't true in this case, so ...ignorant... was not the correct word to use.
