There must be some good/decent places though, no, at least one? Places maybe owned by an actual Italian, or by someone who used to live on the East Coast (NY/NJ) and actually knows what he's doing when he makes pizza? That's usually the case. But yeah, I definitely get what you mean. Even PA doesn't make pizza like NJ does and it's only across a river. Again the further from this area you go, the worse pizza tends to get. NYC/Philly/NJ/CT/RI (where Italians are clustered and have been for years) tend to be overall good, but outside of these places… usually not so much.
They say it's our water in NJ (and NY) that makes our bread products so good. Something in our water around here makes bagels, pizza dough, and dough for rolls as good as they are. I don't know if there's any truth to it, but it's interesting.
Lol! That's what they say about Montreal bagels.......the best bagels in the world. And in space.
Very young ink berry shoots are picked. Need to be boiled and rinsed several times before being made safe to eat. A very common cooked green in the south. Nearly every Southern State has Poke Salad (aka Poke Salat) festivals
Clean and quarter fresh jalapeños ( no seeds!)
Take fresh gulf shrimp and clean off heads and tails
Take a half slice of bacon and wrap it around the jalapeño and shrimp, tucking the ends underneath.
Grill or broil until the bacon is crisp. The heat takes most of the spice out of the jalapeños.
You can use soaked toothpicks, but I've never needed them.

Then we went to HI so... We love poke SOOO much but it's probably better known for pineapple. (and the pineapple ice cream at Dole is to die for!)
Now we're in Atlanta and I have no idea!

My error. I had noticed hunterseat was in Atlanta. so I Jumped to the conclusion he was speaking of the Southern Tradition
Following the whole train I now see it was HI Poke being discussed. I'm a former Southerner, ex-Texan. Poke automatically means Poke Greens to me.
