My favorite flavor pairings:
1. Chili/Fritos (like a Frito Pie).
2. Hamburger/Soda (when I eat a hamburger I always have it with a soda).
3. Salad/Eggs (like a chef salad it has hard-boiled egg chunks in it..YUMM!!).
4. Chicken strips/Beer (but I don't drink anymore, but I do on occasion have an O'Doul's these days. Still tastes great together. I used to eat chicken strips with a bottle of O'Doul's or regular beer, when I used to drink, when I went out and played pool at a bar & grill type of place).
On the sweet side:
Chocolate with any of the following: orange, lime, lemon (something about chocolate and citrus), also cherry, mint, coffee, and blueberry.
Ice cream with cake, more for the contrast of texture and temperature. Flavors are obviously good in these foods already.
Ice cream and coffee, probably for the temperature, too. Textures, not so much.
On the savory side:
Mustard and pickles
Cheese or garlic or onion with just about anything.
There have been a lot of good ones mentioned with chocolate. I would add red wine to those.
I like anything made with tomato sauce and cheese.
