I'd rather they didn't. Just inviting more waste. Another problem they will average out the cost and pass it on to each diner whether they use it or not. That is just wrong. Pay for what ya get and get what you pay for. Both are important.

Yes, and only if the customer ask for it.

Sure. If they price them at $5.00 apiece. Food cost, people!!! They have to keep it around at least 40% to make a sustainable profit.

Yes, fountain soda is cheap.

I have seen a few mom and pop places where they serve unlimited refills on soda

It is way to expensive for a restaurant to give free refils on juice and milk. I can barely afford to keep my 3 teens sons in milk, I know how expensive that can be.

Very true. The cup costs more than the soda inside. In every restaurant/pizza parlor I worked at when I was younger, we could always drink as much soda as we wanted while on the clock, but we weren't allowed to use the cups that we sold it in-we had to use reusable plastic cups that were kept in the back or we were to bring in our own.

No - someone pays for that and this case all the peole who order and don't abuse this would pay for those that do.

I would definetly say NO refills to milk and any juice.

Coffee on the other hand (mostly by adults) is a very good PR expense.

A 2nd cup of coffee could make or lose a customer in the future.

Recall some yrs back in Acapulco at 7 AM sitting outside under a umbrella at a burger type place waiting for my eggs to be done. Went to the window and asked for a refill on my coffee after waiting a while for my order. She (a young girl) said that would be .50 cents more (pesos) for the coffee. I replied that it was no problem but she should remember that all Americans like their morning coffee and would not hesitate to pay extra if needed. I never forgot that incident and probably others (Americans) have experienced the same situation.

Different country and different thinkings.

Steve
