I don't eat most canned foods, just tuna fish, canned tomatoes to make sauce, and Progresso soups. I love their chicken noodle soup when I'm under the weather.

Well now, people seem to be mistaking their favorite canned foods with canned foods they use. I use many kinds, they're just not ones I'd consider favorites. And most require some sort of doctoring to be tasty (IMO). Sure fresh and unprocessed foods are preferable, but having a well-stocked pantry can be a life-saver at times.

The 7 foods experts won't eat

Not sure if CD is where I found this, but it sure scared me off canned tomatoes. I've never seen them in jars here, so kinda stuck unless I make my own.

I love corned beef sandwich's.
Hormel chili no beans.
Green beans, believe it or not.
Chili beans. That's all I can think of at the moment, try to avoid them because of the sodium.

I really like spam.

I also like canned tuna....either hot or cold.

Sometimes I like canned peas....that is probably nostalgia from my childhood.....but I do like them...with mac and cheese. (In creamy sauced dishes I prefer frozen peas.) I like Del Monte green beans too....but not as much as fresh.

I like a dish in which I use canned; pork and beans, old fashion baked beans, butter beans....and kidney beans.

There are lots of canned goods I use in recipes and I wouldn't be without them in my pantry.

addition: We like canned milk in our coffee over fresh or half and half.

We also like canned sardines and other smoked fish, clams for white sauce or chowder. I like canned crab meat more than fresh, for salad or addition to potato salads. I used to love love love canned salmon for cooking, eg. salmon wiggle or salmon cakes.

I used to like Vienna sausages....hvent had them in many years. I might not like them now.

Some of it is gross -- like pickled eggs tinted pink -- and some is unhealthy. Spam springs to mind. But there is no substitute after a really horrible day at work for 12 ounces of wax beans straight out of the can with a fork. And then you drink the saltwater left in the can. Mmmmm.
