American Pediatric Association (sp)?....they have said that a significant problem with ped's being fed "hot dogs" and have chocked to death that the All American Hot Dog must be elimated and or "restructed" to meet guidelines for being a "SAFE FOOD".

SO...WHAT SHAPE SHOULD A HOT DOG BE...

i KNOW JUST CUT THE LITTLE SUCKER'S UP AND FEED THEM IN PIECES...OR MAYBE NOT EVEN FEED THEM TO THE KIDS...

THIS ALONG WITH "OTHER" FOODS THAT CAN CAUSE CHOKING..

PRIME RIB FOR ADULTS...STEAKS FOR ADULTS.....PEANUTS, POPCORN...ETC ETC.

HW...WHAT NEXT..

may be they're talking about "safe foods" for children under a certain age? I can't believe they suggest the same guidelines for 10yo's as well as 3yo's.

This is so stupid. Cut the stupid hotdog and get over it. Why do we need government to make sure our children don't choke on FOOD. My goodness, we have been feediing children food all their lives. Apperently some have survived. Ok that was a little harsh.

This is my thought..............Government can't fix stupid.

I think it's good that it does bring choking hazard education to many whom are not aware.

The hot dog shape is not going to change; the key is that all parents know of the risks that young kids could have with certain foods.

It's not the government's job but the parent's job to educate themselves prior to having kids.

Advocating CPR classes for parents along with info on choking hazards would be the logical thing to do IMO.

Hot Dogs may be a choking hazard for kids, but they re much more dangerous if the kid actually gets them down into his digestive system.
