This is the annual Clam Festival weekend in our Pacific NW coastal tourist town.
Part of it is a Clam Chowder Contest.
The local restaurants compete and there is also a section for home cooks.
You can sample all the various entries, but we never have gone to it.
We leave those kinds of activities for the tourists.
We already know where to get the best chowder.

I've never had any other kind but New England and I love it. I would like to try the others, but not canned.
