Sounds like you arn't a cook and don't really care what you eat. So, in reality it doesn't matter, you might as well continue using an oven like you do now. Maybe I'm wrong, if the taste of food does make a difference to you, preheat your oven and keep track of times and temperatures. Then you can decide if it's worth your trouble. I keep track of cooking times, and temperatures (and record times & temps in a notebook) when I use a BBQ because usually I'm serving guests and I want the food to be as near perfect as it can be.
