T-bone/porterhouse is a clear winner. NY strip and ribeye. I eat my steak rare rare. Salted and seared . cold and pink in the middle. I have never had prime rib i liked. Never.
Have to have an explanation as to why people are calling prime rib steak? I love prime rib, but never think of it as steak.
My favorite steak for flavor is, believe it or not Top sirloin. After that would be NY strip and Porterhouse. But you see Porterhouse so rarely anymore. I am not a huge fan or filet. Love the tenderness but I just don't think the flavor is as good as some steaks. Don't get be wrong, I love all steak, but filet is just not a the very top of my list like it is so many peoples.
Porterhouse, filet, NY Strip (Prime rib only as a roast)
Rib Eye used to be one of our top sellers but I guess all that marbling translated to me into greasy tasting fat.Yuck!
I really like a good sirloin when it's a GOOD sirloin, cooked medium rare. I think it has more flavor than some of the more expensive cuts, but I've also had some sirloin that's crap.
Where I used to live there was a "pork store" that had such good sirloin steaks. They had the whole sirloin in the case, and you went in and told them how many steaks to cut and how thick.
You know what? I forgot to mention the flat iron steak. I like that one too but after reading all these replies I must admit that I am not nearly as knowledgeable about the different cuts of steak as some of you so honestly I am not sure where the flat iron fits in.
Damn you had to post that picture didnt you? Now I am hungry
